Another One! EllipSpace “StarPool” Two Consecutive Launches Achieve Complete Success

2023-12-05 10:14

At 7:33 on December 5th, the StarPool-1 1A satellite was launched into space by the Ceres-1 Y9 carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The satellite successfully entered the predetermined orbit, established a stable telemetry and control connection with the ground, and its solar panels deployed normally. The launch mission was a complete success, laying a solid foundation for the construction of the integrated communication, navigation and remote sensing constellation under the "StarPool" mission.

The StarPool-1 1A satellite is another real-time wide-area comprehensive sensing satellite, developed by EllipSpace Technology Co., Ltd. Operating in a dawn-dusk orbit, this satellite features technical capabilities such as responsive agile imaging, on-orbit intelligent processing, and on-board on-orbit mutual calibration.

This satellite adopts the ESP50 Sichen Platform, developed by EllipSpace Technology Co., Ltd. Its main purpose is to verify the optical imaging capability in the dawn-dusk orbit. After being put into on-orbit operation, the satellite can acquire nighttime light remote sensing images and carry out verification of on-orbit intelligent processing algorithms. Meanwhile, it uses the GPU+FPGA architecture to conduct verification of on-orbit nighttime light image intelligent processing, autonomous decision-making, and the triggering of the space-ground system linkage mechanism. For the purpose of obtaining first-hand test data, support the overall design and functional iteration of subsequent satellites of "StarPool" mission.
