Breaking News! The First Batch of Networking Satellites of EllipSpace "StarPool" mission Launched Successfully

2023-12-04 10:14

At 12:10 on December 4, 2023, the StarPool-1 Group 2 A/B satellites were launched into space by the Long March 2C Y75 carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The satellites successfully entered the predetermined orbit, established a stable telemetry and control connection with the ground control, and their solar panels deployed normally.

It is reported that the StarPool-1 Group 2 A/B satellites are two networking satellites developed by EllipSpace. The successful launch of this group of satellites has laid a solid foundation for the construction of the integrated communication, navigation and remote sensing constellation under the "StarPool".

This group of satellites have characteristics including high functional density, highly coordinated on-board integration, high-precision autonomous orbit and attitude determination, inter-satellite laser communication and networking and collaborative operation. It innovatively constructs the cross-business technical system for satellite platform. This is an important practice of EllipSpace’s independent core technologies, and also a major breakthrough in China's commercial aerospace innovation and exploration.

The StarPool-1 Group 2 A/B satellites are two sun-synchronous orbit satellites equipped with multiple types of remote sensing payloads. They can provide homologous, multi-mode, simultaneous-phase, and responsive remote sensing services. They have ultra-wide swath guided imaging, high-precision on-orbit positioning and target extraction of remote sensing images, autonomous mission planning, agile telemetry and control communication, on-orbit high-speed parallel computing, and deep on-orbit reconfiguration of satellite functions. They also support the on-orbit injection and execution of users’ application algorithms.

The "StarPool" mission launched by EllipSpace is a comprehensive sensing satellite constellation composed of more than 100 intelligent satellites. The mission breaks through traditional technical limitations, provides users with real-time wide-area comprehensive sensing services while having on-board intelligent processing capabilities. As the "brain" of digital applications, it provides flexible and diverse support for numerous application fields, including intelligent inspection of power and petroleum infrastructure, smart futures analysis, natural resource monitoring (biodiversity and nature reserve monitoring), agricultural insurance, carbon evaluation, emergency disaster reduction, marine equipment and facility supervision, and ecological environment monitoring.

The "StarPool" constellation is expected to be fully completed in 2027. In the future, it will serve the digital economy sector valued at tens of trillions of yuan, providing high-value data infrastructure support for the construction of a smart Earth.

EllipSpace's strategic positioning focus on "real-time wide-area comprehensive sensing service provider". It not only responds to the strategic call for national space new infrastructure, but also will strongly promote the rapid development of the global digital economy.
